Maidstone
19th June 2008
The Mall in Maidstone, Kent, was our destination, which meant we didn't have to leave as early in the morning this time round. This was a pretty short journey compared to previous ones, however, once we got to Maidstone we must've driven around the town (approximately) seven times before finding the Mall. It has to be said, Sausages navigation is pretty poor even with a satnav.
We eventually arrived at the Mall, the shopping centre was rather pleasant and we were based between rival shops: Superdrug and Boots. As soon as we had set-up our stand a flock of field-sales people surrounded our stand and started to poach the people who were interested in talking to the Play Team. That angered us!!!
The day went pretty smoothly, we were talking to a man with the most amazingly styled mullet, it was so amazing that Paul Anthony would have hair-envy! Another highlight was when a man wearing shorts, long socks and sandals came to the stand to ask us where the council office was, he was a stunner!! As the day went on Penelope was suffering from a bit of chafing on her toe so she put a plaster on, but managed to stick it on the WRONG toe, how silly is that?!
In the afternoon the Play Team headed to Mote Park to spread some more Play Radio love to the people of Maidstone, it was a beautiful place. We also ate our weekly Subway delights there. As usual Sausages and Peter had a one-footer and Penelope had a 6-incher... and as usual Sausages and Peter finished theirs first.
The Play Team do apologise for the lack of photographic evidence of Maidstone, this was mainly down to Sausages, who forgot the camera.

The Location Quiz
As you know by now, everytime The Play Team get out on the road, Lee Moulsdale challenges the team to take part in his Location Quiz. Here's the story so far...
Running Total - 7/15
Plymouth 12th June 2008
SCORED 3/5
Not a bad performance. A valiant attempt. Would you believe that Angela Rippon is not from Plymouth? No, neither could we!
Bristol 5th June 2008
SCORED 4/5
The team were on fire, almost nothing could catch those clever cats out!
Norwich 29th May 2008
SCORED 0/5
The team really let themselves down on this occasion, they couldn't even tell Captain Moulsdale the local dialling code! Poor performance! Easier questions next time please, Lee!
Plymouth
12th 2008 - PLYMOUTH

One or two interesting discoveries were made about the team during the day including Sausages’ skills as a getaway driver and awkward experience with a certain South African gentleman, the holes in Bo’s forearms and his history of violence, and Penelope’s love of kissing teeth and flowery summer dresses!
Next stop......Maidstone! See you there!

On Thursday 12th June The Play Team descended on Plymouth city centre. Being the former place of residence for Peter “Bo Duke” Perfect, it was to be an emotional occasion. During the long journey down to Plymouth from Play Radio HQ with Sausages at the wheel, The Play Team passed the time with the usual games and met a number of interesting fellow road users! This week Penelope enjoyed the delights of some lovely Earl Grey in the back seat of the Play Mobile.

On arrival at Drake Circus Shopping Centre in Plymouth, the team was very impressed by the beautiful new mall. Throughout the day we met a number of real characters including the most smartly dressed gardener in the world…..its official! A rather confused but very elegant lady offered Bo a hug in the hope that he would reward her with £1000! Sorry, my dear, not this time! The team managed to tune-in some local businesses to the soothing sounds of Lee Moulsdale and introduced many shoppers to the offerings of the Play Radio network.
With a mouthful of Spicy Italian, Sausages’
lunch was rudely interrupted by legendary Play Radio presenter Steve Phillips. Sausages performed a live radio link into Steve’s show from the beautiful Plymouth Hoe. Bo took it upon himself to assume the role of some sort of Plymouth tour guide, much to the annoyance of Penelope and Sausages. Some of the highlights of his tour were the hair salon that he frequented to tame his wild golden locks, a car park were he was set upon by some ruffians, the night club where he was known for throwing some crazy shapes and the 10 metre diving platform from which he back-flipped into local folklore.

Bristol
5 June 2008 - BRISTOL
The lovely Bristol... i have to say, the friendliest people i have met! Although quite a few nutters... The staff at the Mall were great. Ms Pitstop thought she was being eyed up by a fella, sadly it turned out to be a mannequin in the the shop "The Officers Club" We were all tempted to go to watch the Lady Boys of Bankok who will be on stage between 7-22 June. Tickets are £19, If anyone knows more about this show, please get in touch and maybe post some pictures. the web address is http://www.ladyboysofbangkok.co.uk/ . The day finished off with a tasty one foot spicy italian a meatball marinara and steak and cheese from Subway. Thanks to the holiday Inn where we stopped off to eat these tasty treats. Oh and the game for the motorway was to guess what Peter Perfect learnt at college and what sausages did for the first time in 1988. Marvellous!

Norwich
29 May 2008 - NORWICH
Norwich had so many wild people to talk about. The weather was fantastic, Ms Pitstop was wearing her flowing yellow summer dress (Pictures to follow) Vue cinemas, Zavvi and so many more have been converted to Play Radio listeners. Peter Perfect was outraged when a small boy asked him for a prize. He said, quote... You dont ask for prizes you have to win them, thats why they're called prizes... the small boy then had rummage in Ms Pitstops lucky box and found nothing. After a busy day, the team headed back to Play Radio HQ. The M25 was as busy as ever, so more great motorway games were born... such as "Bogeys" and guess who. Also Peter Perfect fell in love with a girl who looked like she was a nun between junctions 13-18, she was driving a green Ford KA between the hours of 16.30-18.30 hrs, if this is you and you like the look of Peter Perfect then get in touch.

Hull
15th May 2008 - HULL
Second step of the tour ended up at the Princes Quay Shopping Centre in Hull. This was an exciting trip for Penelope as it was her place of birth and hadn't been there since she was 2-years of age. We were based right at the main entrance to the mall, which was a great place to be. Unfortunately Sausages was a right numpty and brought the wrong roller-stand which meant our presence there was lacking slightly. We did however, have a great response from the people and businesses in Hull. All-in-all we travelled for a total of about 10-hrs that day and found that we were starting to go slightly mad. This was our chance to make up some great motorway games... such as the number plate game, this involved making up a sentance using the three last letters of a number plate For example GU 52 BTJ (Big Tom Jones) Oh the fun we had!

Oxford
8th May 2008 - OXFORD

The tour kicked off in Oxford, at the Westgate Shopping Centre. The sun was shining when we graced Oxford with our Play Radio presence. The students were out in their droves and interest in internet radio was high. There were lots of bikes. Peter Perfect rode most of them... naughty boy! We were confronted with a lovely "Rock Chick"who seemed scared by the whole internet radio concept, Peter Perfect managed to convert her.. she is now currently listening to Play Rock! How U Doin?!
Dick spent most of the day playing with the Play Radio Dongle.. living proof that Play Radio can be listened to anywhere anytime.
